How to Code Python PoCs to Exploit Web Vulnerabilities (2026 Guide)
Introduction
Hi i’m Tommy, a Cyber Security professional and Security Researcher from Italy, with almost 5 years of experience. I’ve spent the last couple of years finding and reporting real vulnerabilities in WebApps, Open Source Software, and AI Models and applications, getting bounties and a handful of CVEs along the way. One pattern I keep running into with security writeups (including some of my own earlier ones) is that they describe a vulnerability class beautifully, and then leave you with nothing you can actually run. You read it, you nod, and three days later you couldn’t reproduce it even if someone asked you to. This article is my attempt to fix that for myself, as much as for you, so that you can actually understand and especially remember how to create working PoCs to exploit web vulnerabilities, in one of the easiest and most used programming languages: Python.
We’re going to walk through four of the most common web vulnerabilities, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Insecure Direct Object References (IDORs), Path Traversal leading to Local File Inclusion (LFI), and OS Command Injection leading to Remote Code Execution (RCE), and for each one we’ll write a small Python script that actually triggers it against a real, intentionally vulnerable target. No theory you can’t test, no “trust me”…
