Introduction: What Happens When a Pod Needs a Home?
Imagine you have a Kubernetes cluster with four worker nodes. Several applications are running, new pods are arriving, and each pod needs somewhere to run.
But there is a catch: not every node is suitable for every pod.
One pod might need 10 CPUs. Another might require more memory. Some pods may need to run on specific nodes, while others might prefer nodes where their container images are already available.
So, who makes these decisions?
That’s where the Kubernetes Scheduler comes in.
