This statement doesn't do the issue justice. The problem is that companies like Sony are not *selling* their software, they are renting it out and calling it purchases. You do not own what you pay for; Sony can revoke a digital "purchase" at any time (and it has already happened)!

Software copyright law has needed updating for years. Players should have the rights to the goods they have exchanged money for. EULA's aren't worth the pixels they're displayed on. The law should be changed so that purchases from abandoned platforms can be extracted and enjoyed for personal use.
