Good news. Headline from newsmax.com: “Navy Recruiting Hits Highest Level Since Early 2000s.”

Another medical miracle: “Paralyzed man walks again after experimental drug trial triggers remarkable recovery.”

For the first time in ages I’m ill. For years any time I’d felt like I was coming down with something I was fine the next morning. At first I thought I was having an adverse reaction to a flu shot. It’s a cold — runny nose, watery eyes, feathery throat, although the symptoms are similar to Covid. I had to cut my morning walk short. I brought out only a minimum of wares for the Anti-Inflation Book Shop. My thanks to the young woman who donated a handful of books and to the one waiting in her car at the light and waving a large paperback up and down to get my attention; and to the young mom who bought Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling; and to the woman who purchased Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption by Bryan Stevenson; and to the middle age Moldovan female who took a chance on Curious Sicilian by Yours Truly. She was wearing a T-shirt that had an Italian phrase emblazoned on it, which she purchased as a lark. The first two words were A Volte (sometimes) and the last was Dici (They say). I couldn’t find a pic. Rats!
