I write, you read

I PRAYED , IT HAPPENED THE NEXT DAY

2 min read5 days ago

A while back, actually, this month, I wrote about something that I desperately wanted and I got it the very next day. Although the circumstances that led to it were not pretty at all, I think when you get what you have been praying for you kind off forget the pain. At least I have.

It is like the construction process. It is described as messy, noisy, expensive and demanding. There is digging, breaking, dust, delays, pressure and uncertainty. For months, all you see is a construction site. Then one day, you stand inside a beautiful finished home, and the mess that once occupied the space is gone.

I love the peace that comes when you are free

Anyways, mine is not about building a house. As recorded here on my page, on the 18 th of October. I wrote about how I desired to live by myself and have my own space. This year, if I were to describe my living situation in one word, it would be, nomadic. After every three months I was always onto the next place. I think the longest I ever stayed in a place was about five months. If your life is filled with such uncertainty, you tend to be destabilized. Planning and living life become secondary to you.

So when this month started I just told God, enough was enough. I needed stability. I needed somewhere I could breathe and unwind without pressure. Somewhere I could have those slow days, where you just sit, sleep and eat without having to meet somebody else`s expectations.

So after writing all that, everything changed overnight. My roommate had to suddenly leave and I got the house to myself. Fully furnished and reduced rent, another miracle right there. Now, I could sit here and tell you everything happened beautifully but that will not be entirely true.

It got me thinking about prayers. You know sometimes when we ask for something, we tend to give time for God to act. Do we imagine it would happen overnight? Sometimes not. We think in terms of weeks, months or years but not in a couple of hours.

That`s the beauty about documenting, writing it. I mean, one day I will look back and remember this. I do not know what will happen next month, but I am banking on God to surprise me.
