YPG-Philippines Collaborates With IPSF APRO for APPS 2021
By YPG Publication Team
Last July, the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation Asia Pacific Regional Office (IPSF APRO) celebrated its 20th Asia Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium (APPS) with the theme, “Ideals to Reality: The Versatility of the Asia-Pacific Pharmacist.” It aimed to highlight the capabilities of pharmacists in the provision of quality, patient-centered healthcare, and to feature their contributions in the creation of sustainable solutions to current health challenges in the Asia Pacific community.
APPS is a significant event of IPSF APRO that gathers pharmacy and pharmaceutical science students and recent graduates from all over Asia Pacific region. It is a venue for multicultural learning through a multitude of activities such as workshops and poster competition.
This year’s host was the University of the Philippines Pharmaceutical Association (UPPhA) which, in 2019, bid against Nepal and Thailand to be the APPS host.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, activities were conducted virtually for the 10-day event that ran from July 2 to July 11, 2021.

YPG-Philippines took part in the event’s success. Dr. Gerard Lee L. See (AVP for Visayas) and Ms. Margarita M. Gutierrez (immediate past president of YPG-Philippines) were judges for the Poster Competition.
The preliminaries for the poster exhibit was held on July 4th while the final event was on the 11th.
In addition, our very own YPG-President, Krishelle Anne M. Obispo, was invited to speak and facilitate the Professional Development Workshop on July 8th.
YPG-Philippines congratulates all participants and winners of the successful APPS!
Until next year!
