A New Era in Education: Yetkin Gençler
I would like to start my first story on Medium by writing my thoughts on YetGen (Yetkin Gençler), which introduced me to Medium.

Today, the education system, especially in Turkey, trains students like race horses and keeps them circling around certain stereotypes rather than preparing them for life and improving them in solving problems about life. This outdated education system is only theoretically and doesn’t attach importance to practice, loses its importance with the developing technology. Unfortunately, Turkish students don’t have the necessary competencies brought by this developing technology.
At this point, Prof. Dr. Erhan Erkut developed an education program supported by the Mehmet Zorlu Foundation and Mef University. This program is online and completely free and open to both high school and university students. A certain number of students who pass a certain application process are accepted into the program. At the beginning of the training, they are divided into certain groups and each group has a leader. These leaders are selected from previous YetGen graduates. Every week on Saturdays at 10 AM, they gather under the leadership of Erhan Erkut and organize various activities. During the training, an interactive training is provided with group activities in each lesson. Trainings are carried out on topics such as leadership, teamwork, productivity, presentation techniques, and various guests are invited to allow students to benefit from their experiences.
As for my thoughts on this, on these days I have come to the end of my YetGen education. It was a much better experience for me than I expected. I realized how much I lacked knowledge in many subjects and that I needed to educate myself. I met many new people and we did various studies together. I realized how important such training programs are for the future of our country and the world. I highly recommend this program for every student who wants to prepare himself/herself well for daily life and business life.
