A Key to Continuous Improvement in Agile

Improving your team’s process is all about capturing lessons learned and following up on them while continuously adding more over time. How do you do this? By following the continuous improvement process, such as the PDCA cycle.

The PDCA cycle is a simple, yet effective tool used to manage change. It’s a great process for your team to adopt and can be applied in everyday scenarios. This method is especially useful when capturing team improvements, implementing changes, and tracking success over time.

Here’s how the PDCA cycle works:

  • Plan: Recognize an improvement as an opportunity for change.
  • Do: Perform the improvement and test it.
  • Check: Review your test and learn from it.
  • Act: Act based on what you’ve learned, then implement the change or discard it.

For a team to be successful over time, small and incremental improvements are essential. Capture them, act on them, and watch as your team grows and excels!
