So often, the way we measure a movie’s success is how well it does at the box office. The better the movie, the more money it brings in at the theaters.

But occasionally, the public will overlook a movie at first, and later discover it on DVD or, in modern times, on streaming services. These movies become revered and developed a cult-like following of some devoted fans.

Here is a list of ten movies that underperformed at the box office, but later developed a large fan base of loyal watchers. I have attempted to rank the movies based on the post box office performance and how good I thought the movie was.

10. Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World (2010)

Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World bombed at the box office. It cost over $60 million to make but took in less than $50 million at the box office. Despite having a recognizable cast including Michael Cera, Brie Larson, and Chris Evans, the general public seemed not to want to see the movie in the theater.
