For years, most of my data tools were written in Python.

It was flexible, fast to prototype, and had a huge ecosystem.

But eventually I ran into a wall.

Some pipelines needed:

  • lower latency
  • better concurrency
  • predictable memory usage

Python struggled when workloads required thousands of concurrent tasks or real-time data ingestion.

That’s when I started exploring Go (Golang) for building high-performance data systems.

This article describes how I use Go to build scalable backend infrastructure for data pipelines and analytics platforms.

1) Why Go Works So Well for Data Infrastructure

Go was designed for systems programming with simplicity and concurrency in mind.
