Chords and Lyrics Megan — Bayside

artist : bayside
song : megan ( acoustic )
after looking for the chords , i found the other set on the website . they were wrong ,
corrected them , they seem ok to me .
these were worked out on a piano , and will probably sound even better when played on a guitar .
intro A G#/A F#m F#m/E x2
A A/G#
butter on a summer day
F#m
when she’s around
F#m/E
i was on the tracks
D
when the gate came down
A A/G#
suddenly i recognized
F#m F#m/E D
those bloodshot rearview mirror eyes as mine
F#m E D
i heard that whistle call my name
F#m E D
  i almost drove away
chorus :
          Am C#
but megan i
       E F#m B
had a feeling that you would be on that train
          D E
so i just waited there for you
A A/G#
caught a ride to another town
F#m
where the air was clean
F#m/E D
and the sun never goes down
A A/G#
everyone was standing in a line
F#m F#m/E D
between the landing and the stairs
F#m E D
i heard somebody call my name
F#m E D
  i almost climbed the stairs
           Am C#
but megan i
       E F#m B
had a feeling that someday you’d meet me there
          D E
so i just waited there for you
solo : chorus chords x2
A A/G#
butter on a summer day
F#m
when i hear that name
F#m/E D
it’s a dream that never came true
A A/G#
sat down on the tracks
F#m F#m/E D
and waited for a train to take me back to you
F#m E D
somebody came and took my hand
F#m E D
  i finally had to go
            Am C#
but megan i
     E F#m B
just want you to know
          D E
that i waited as long as i could
A A/E F#m
butter on a summer day when she’s around
end
nb . in the vereses , i found it also works than instead of changing to the F#m chord , you
stay on the a chord , and simply change the bass note . this is personal preference only
i suppose .
