Hard Core Strategies for Harnessing Food Cravings
For those who have had enough
I was a binge eater for many years.
I have conquered my food cravings. It has taken me years to arrive here.
There are several ways to do this; I probably know them all and have tried them all. I’m not saying the other ones don’t work. They don’t work for me.
I have to be strict with myself but it’s worth it! The guardrails give me freedom and I love that feeling.
Bonus — This way of eating has eliminated that stubborn belly fat I’ve had my whole life.
What I do
I keep my blood glucose in a tight range.
My body produces too much insulin when I eat carbohydrates. This sends me on a blood glucose roller coaster, creating highs and lows, making me hungrier.
How I do it
1. I eat a very low-carb diet
I follow Dr. Bernstein’s advice (Dr. Bernstein’s Diabetes Solution) of eating no more than 6 grams of carbs for breakfast, 12 for lunch, 12 for dinner, and no fast-acting carbs. I don’t eat fruit, root vegetables, or fast-acting sweeteners like honey or maple syrup. I follow these guidelines for all of my meals.
