Why We Feel Lonely Even Around People
Being surrounded by people doesn’t always mean feeling connected.
Guys, I have question, have you ever been in a room with a bunch of people, laughed at their jokes, and joined their discussions, yet still felt completely alone?
It’s a puzzling sensation. You are with friends, family or peers and it feels like there is a void. You don’t feel alone, but no one is really there.Sometimes, that’s the hardest type of loneliness to describe.
Being Surrounded vs. Being Connected.
Loneliness isn’t simply about having nobody around. It’s a lack of connection that’s often the problem. With hundreds of contacts, dozens of friends and constant conversations, you may never feel truly understood by anyone.Consider the differences between asking, “How are you?” and asking, “How do you feel?”
One is a discussion. The other one is a link. Humans don’t need just a pal. We want to be felt and understood, to be accepted, but not always pretend to be someone else.
The pressure to hide our feelings is immense. It’s a big pressure to hide our feelings. We can sometimes engender our own sense of isolation without realising so.
We laugh when we are feeling sad, claim to be OK when we aren’t, and do not talk…
