A Letter to My Younger Self
To my younger self.
On the version of me who had no portfolio, no plan, and no idea it would actually work out
Dear younger me,
You are sitting with a blank résumé, unsure how to fill it and wondering what you could possibly offer anyone.
I wish I could tell you that it gets easier quickly. But that would not be true.
It gets easier slowly—mostly because you keep showing up anyway.
You are going to apply for internships that lead nowhere. You are going to get excited about one opportunity that turns out to be a scam—yes, an actual scam, hidden behind a professional-sounding company name and a fake offer letter.
For a while, you will feel embarrassed.
Please do not.
That was not naivety. That was simply what trying looks like when no one has shown you the ropes. You will learn to read between the lines of a “job opportunity” faster than most people ever have to. And later, that instinct will protect you more than once.
You are going to start writing on Medium with no formal writing experience. You will…
