Can We Keep Artificial Intelligence Under Control?
How We Can Not Only Manage the Risks of Artificial Intelligence But Reap the Benefits By Being Intelligent Humans
Artificial intelligence is advancing at a pace that raises a fundamental question: can we develop increasingly powerful technologies while retaining the ability to manage their consequences?
The potential benefits are considerable. AI could accelerate medical research, improve education, increase productivity and help us tackle problems that have long resisted human ingenuity. Yet the same technology could disrupt employment, concentrate economic and political power, amplify cyber threats and, in the longer term, create risks that are difficult to predict or control.
