Fear Does Not Justify Mass Killing: Killing Stray Animals Cannot Be a Solution
Stray animals are not a “burden”; they are the silent victims of broken systems.
Are you also reading what is written or said about stray animals?
Don’t you think that individuals who speak about the fate of living beings on the streets reduce the issue merely to topics like “the threat to human life,” “non-hygienic feeding habits,” or “religiously disliked practices,” and in doing so, alienate these beings with arrogance and selfishness — should this not be a painful breaking point for our conscience?
And yet, it seems that no one has a sentence left to care about anyone but themselves.
To be honest, I am also very afraid of stray dogs — especially as the parent of Zeus and Shiva…
But instead of fulfilling what is considered an essential public duty — “to provide for the care, repair, health, hygiene, and all similar needs of stray animals and shelters, and to punish those who fail to address deficiencies” — somehow the solution is to put these voiceless beings to sleep! To think of euthanizing them and even putting this into writing as a draft law!
To brand them as “bad” and turn them into targets!
It is such a level of heartlessness that no word I know can truly describe it.
