When Did We Start Making Rules?
From rules around what we eat, how we eat, what we wear, whom we marry
What gives you more pleasure, eating with your hands or eating with a spoon and fork?
Humans have evolved in so many ways, and yet we continue to do many things just the way we did during the cave era.
We breathe the same way.
We still need food to survive.
We still sleep to replenish our bodies.
We still need clothes and shelter to protect ourselves.
And the list goes on.
But over time, we have also added so many things to our lives. We have created rules around what we eat, how we eat, what we wear, whom we marry, how we raise our children and even how we should celebrate.
Think about it.
Some people enjoy eating with their hands, while others prefer a spoon and fork. Both are perfectly fine.
Some people love living in joint families. Others prefer having their own space.
Some people want to get married, some don’t. Some want children, some don’t.
And yet, somewhere along the way, we started treating our own choices as the right way of living.
