With the titles precariously hanging in the lofty rafters of Tokyo Dome the action exploded, Kevin Knight immediately soaring with a springboard crossbody but no team able to gain an advantage with bodies dropping in and outside the ring. War Dogs finally took control of the ring, a High and Low shot with chairs rattling Kosei Fujita, and a further chair blasting Knight out of another springboard attempt.
Looking to permanently eliminate one half of the champions Moloney crushed KUSHIDA with the deadly Drilla Killa on the outside, but was soon taken out of play himself when Francesco Akira detonated with a wild assisted-senton through a table from the apron. Connors found himself in no-man’s land next, vulnerable laying on a ladder and feeling the cold steel thanks to a spectacular 450 splash from Robbie Eagles.
Catch 2/2 combined smoothly as always as they looked to continue their success at Wrestle Kingdom, catching Fujita with the Leaning Tower. Eagles at the top of the ladder had the titles in his grasp but TJP shrewdly met him there, Aswang mist and an unbelievable Final Cut from the ladder leaving the titles still in the balance. Standing perilously in the heavens atop a ladder Knight left the Tokyo crowd stunned when he soared to hit Perfect Timing, the destruction seeing all competitors trying to climb the ladder only to be sent plummeting back down.
With two ladders primed in the centre of the ring, Catch 2/2 and Ichiban Sweet Boys went to war; TJP was the first to fall followed immediately by Eagles, leaving Fujita to cleverly trap Akira in the ladder rungs and unhook the titles to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships.
