Why Waiting Feels Longer Than It Actually Is

When you are expecting some communication, it is hard to keep calm and wait patiently without going crazy.

It can be hard to concentrate on what you are currently doing. In the waiting, we get anxious, and our inner stability, resilience, and emotional regulation get tested.

I know this is relatable to many.

It could be exam results that can come out any time, or hospital results for some diagnosis.

I usually consider myself a very patient person when it comes to things, until I am no longer that person in some situations.

Especially in extremely slow moving pipelines.

It can be frustrating for sure.

I recently found myself in a situation where I was waiting for an email that never seemed to arrive. I was hoping it would be sent soonest so I could make some serious decision promptly, but the other side of the sender was way too quiet.

The sender had mentioned in the previous email that they would get back to me soonest possible, but that went on for days.
