Imagine this scenario. You finally have a brilliant local AI model running perfectly on your computer. You have bypassed the cloud, you are running it locally, and there are no monthly AI subscription fees to worry about.

You feel like a genius. Then you actually try to use it for real development work. You ask your shiny new AI to review a bug in a Python script you wrote last night. Suddenly, you realize your ultra-smart AI is completely blind.

It cannot see your local files. It cannot browse the web to read the latest documentation. It cannot inspect your GitHub repository or query your database.

So what do you do? You open your editor, find the broken code, copy it, go to your AI, paste it into the chat, wait for the answer, copy the fix, go back to your editor, and replace the old code. And then you do it again.

Your AI has the brain, but you are still being forced to act as its eyes, hands, and keyboard.

This is where Model Context Protocol (MCP) becomes incredibly useful.
