Andrew Huberman has a gift for making brain science feel usable. Sleep, focus, stress, motivation, he breaks it all down into something you can actually try tomorrow morning. So it is natural to wonder what a person like that reads.

The answer is a mix. Some of these books are about living longer and feeling stronger. Some explain why your brain keeps chasing rewards. A few teach you how to train your mind, and a couple are simply great stories about nature and human obsession.

You do not need to read all 12. But every one of them has at least one idea that can change how you think, so here is what each book is about, the idea that sticks, and one small thing you can try.

1. Outlive by Peter Attia

Peter Attia is a physician who focuses on longevity, and Outlive is his guide to living longer and, more importantly, living well for longer. His big argument is that medicine waits too long.

Most of it kicks in after something has already gone wrong, when we should be preventing the major killers decades earlier: heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s and type 2 diabetes.

Try this: Write down five physical things you want to be able to do at 85. Then ask yourself…
