Here is a story about my bipolar romance with a toxic ex.

The vicious creature in you

My roses are covered in dew

Our love was a battlefield

I was not carrying a shield

I was losing the emotional wars

I laid buried underneath the core

Our battle cries remained persistent

You did not have any of my consent

To attack me right on the bed

The monster remained in your head

Lit cigarettes against my skin

Your harsh words said I’m not thin

I was never good enough

As you remained tough

Against my own free will

I wanted to overdose on pills

So that I could escape

From your force of hate

I soon realized I cannot die yet

I have so much to live for, no death

I needed to leave you behind

But you forced me to stay by your side

I cannot stay, but I cannot leave
