I haven’t worn makeup for a long time. Makeup was probably a fun activity in my early adulthood.

I first came across cosmetics during college. At the time, I got a part-time job as a customer service ambassador at a huge shopping mall. My company asked me to wear makeup at work.

It was quite interesting at first. All my friends wore makeup every day. They talked a lot about cosmetic brands and shared experiences during gatherings.

But I gave it up in my late twenties. Because I never learned how to draw a nice eyebrow shape. I don’t know how to apply eyeshadow or even how to use lipstick. I tried, but found I had no talent for it.

Furthermore, a traumatic event led me to stop wearing makeup again.

It was an unforgettable night many years ago. I was applying foundation and getting ready for a date. My mom suddenly yelped in her bedroom.
