It’s not just that we have a bigger fanbase, better stadium, and better front office in our NFL franchise than your city does. Rather — it’s that every aspect of how the Eagles run their organization and the success that it’s translated to on the field — that is studied by competing NFL franchises all of the time. And it’s that the rather deflating NFL preseason opening 24–7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens over the past two weeks and then a 24–21 loss to the Patriots isn’t just the top story of this exhibition season.

Not even close.

Make no mistake. The Eagles 2026 slate of exhibition opponents aren’t just an assortment of meaningless contests and joint practices in August with the hope of a glimpse of in-season spectacular plays.

Rather — it’s a chance for the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, and Cincinnati Bengals to prove that they are teams all able to compete with the resiliency and consistent competitiveness that the Eagles have set a standard for across the NFL. And it’s a chance to take their AFC franchises each to go to the next level.

Four quarterbacks were taken in the Covid-restricted 2020 Draft ahead of Jalen Hurts. Only one (Joe Burrow) has been to a Super Bowl. None of the them have won one. Zero. Zilch.
