The thing about writing on the internet is: everyone tells you to “just write consistently and the readers will come.” That’s cute, but also not true. Especially not in 2025 when you’re up against SEO-trained content farms, newsletter bros with paid ad budgets, and AI spam articles doing cartwheels around Medium’s algorithm.
So, this morning, while sipping my chai and enjoying Medium articles, I noticed something: a few genuinely good writers — people with sharp ideas, original voices, and something real to say — are struggling to get seen. Their stories are floating out there in Medium’s digital Bermuda Triangle. No reads, no comments, no claps, not even from bots.
And most of the big publications? They’re either shut down, overstuffed with ghostwritten self-help posts, or they’ve got pitch requirements longer than a grocery shopping receipt.
