VerifyVASP at Paris Blockchain Week 2023
It’s a wrap! VerifyVASP team had a fantastic time at Paris Blockchain Week #pbw2023 sharing our experiences on Travel Rule compliance at a workshop and connecting with existing and potential European clients.
During the Summit at #pbw2023, in addition to VASPs, banks, hedge funds and even some layer-2 developers have shown strong interest in Travel Rule compliance. An encouraging sign that demonstrates their awareness of this transformative regulatory requirement.
With the impending vote on MiCA and the Travel Rule requirements on information accompanying transfers of funds and certain crypto-assets (recast) after which, EU member jurisdictions would have 18 months to implement the regulations.

Globally, many other jurisdictions are joining the effort for an accelerated push to adopt Travel Rule. Hong Kong, Japan, the UK and Dubai have all published consultations or updated regulations.
It is now the time to get together as an industry to collaborate and develop industry best practices, and to build the foundations towards seamless, immediate and secure Travel Rule compliance.
Through our branch in France, we will look to cover our EU clients and organise jurisdiction-based workshops in the coming months, as we have in other jurisdictions. These workshops, open to the entire industry regardless of the Travel Rule solution they adopt, are targeted at reviewing and interpreting local and international regulations to form a coherent and consistent industry view, and also provide a concerted feedback loop back to the regulators.
It is also based on these interpretations, combined with input from our experience in supporting other jurisdictions and international transfers that industry best practices can be formed.
