I Use This System for Remembering Everything
The system starts with one rule.
I used to forget many things I learned.
Books, videos, and random thoughts during the day.
Now I use a simple system to remember almost everything. It is not fancy. But it works every single day.
The system starts with one rule.
If something might matter later, I write it down.
I do this as soon as possible, so I do not rely on memory.
When I read a book or article, I slow down.
I underline key lines and write short notes in the margin or in a notebook.
I first saw a similar method in an interview with author Ryan Holiday, who uses notes and cards to save ideas from books.
I do the same with podcasts and YouTube videos.
If a sentence hits me, I pause and capture it with a quick note, just a few words about the idea and why it matters to me.
Once a day, I sit with these rough notes. I rewrite them in my own words. I remove anything that feels weak or unclear.
Then I sort the cleaned notes into groups.
