BUILD A BETTER YOU
The Font Size of Confidence
You know what I realised about this one?
Just added a book I wrote to my digital library. WHAAT!!! The first one there… has my name on it, and I can’t believe it. The surreal feeling from watching it sit there among other books I’ve admired and learned from.
If you’re someone who loves creating, you probably know the feeling too. The peace that comes from seeing something you’ve been wrestling with finally take up space in the real world. It’s been a while I wrote a piece over 7,000 words, y’know. So I chose to do something with it beyond just article-fying it.
Took a lot of thinking, writing, editing, mixing British and American spellings, proofreading, more editing, and even more editing that I might’ve almost memorised every word. At some point, I wasn’t sure whether I was improving the writing or just finding new ways to question what I had already written. But I guess that’s part of the process.
Yet you know what I realised about this one? My name on the cover! The size. It’s almost invisible. Why? Why was that my default move? I read books often, and yet I never really noticed the author’s name is almost always prominent on the cover. You do not need to squint to see it. Some even take up as much space as the title itself.
