Writers’ Meet at the Dinner Table
Fourteen writers. One dinner table, and no chance for anyone to leave without a story.

The invitation said, “Writers’ Meet. Dinner at 8 PM.”
It sounded innocent.
It wasn’t.
I should have known better than to put fourteen writers around one table and expect a peaceful meal. Writers don’t attend dinners. They collect material.
By 8:15, everyone had arrived.
Shubham Agrawal pretended to be the host while secretly wondering whether someone would compliment the invite.
Monika Mahadev had already found the most comfortable chair.
Nitisha Shankar 🌟was observing everyone with the suspicious silence of someone who would later remember every conversation in perfect detail.
Shalini Sinha had that expression writers wear when they have heard something interesting but are politely waiting for the right moment to use it.
Sushmita Chakraborty arrived with the energy of someone who could turn a normal dinner into a three-part series.
Parvathi J was smiling.
