Over the past few years, my life has been constantly changing.

Some of that has to do with my own circumstances, but not all of it. Events happening around the world have a significant impact on our daily lives, and this isn’t something that affects only Japan.

Wars, soaring oil prices, and the resulting rise in the cost of living have all taken their toll. The same amount of money buys less than it used to, and we feel the difference in our everyday lives.

By the end of October this year, 31 typhoons had formed. Of course, not all of them struck Japan, but the country has suffered damage from typhoons and other extreme weather. Crops are also affected by the weather, and sometimes the prices of vegetables seem almost unthinkably high compared with what they used to be.

With so much happening, I have to keep moving forward, even if it means struggling along the way. Working for myself, I don’t really have much choice.

Not everything I try works out. That’s simply the reality.
