The Dark Side Of The Healing World
When gurus become predators
Unfortunately, many people seem to like profiting from others during vulnerable phases of their lives. People at their lowest, wanting to heal, are often targeted by self-proclaimed gurus.
Sadly, I have watched two friends get lost with so-called gurus. Both were women in their mid- or late 20s. They had experienced trauma in their past, and both were looking for healing. They didn’t know each other, but they fell for the same kind of predator.
The Predator Guru Type
Both men promised to provide ancient healing medicines, which they did, but over time, they also made the women increasingly dependent on them.
A strange romantic and sexual relationship seemed to develop, with the women becoming increasingly attached to these men.
Back then, about 20 years ago, I didn’t see the harm. I was in my 20s myself, naive and young. I wanted to believe in a kind and nice world, so no, I didn’t see the danger coming.
These young women seemed happy and in love, at least at first.
