If Nobody’s Reading Your Writing Yet, Read This
It’s probably not your talent. It’s one fixable thing… and most writers never find out what it is.
There’s a specific kind of quiet heartbreak that belongs to writers, and if you’re reading this, you may know it personally.
You write something. You mean it. You polish it, publish it, and wait…. and the internet responds with the sound of a door closing in an empty building. A handful of views. Maybe a pity-clap from a friend. You tell yourself it’s the algorithm, or the niche, or the time of day. Eventually, quietly, you start telling yourself it might be you.
I know this heartbreak from the inside. I’ve also, slowly, gotten to the other side of it — a signed 200,000-word novel, client work, pieces that travel — and I can tell you what actually changed. It wasn’t talent arriving. It wasn’t luck. It was discovering that unread writing almost always has the same one problem, and that the problem is completely fixable, usually within a week.
This article is that fix, as directly as I can give it. (And the fastest version of it lives in my 12 free Story Frameworks — download them here — but understand the diagnosis first, or the frameworks won’t stick.)
