Why Is There So Much Shit in People’s Storage Boxes?
These days we all have second homes. It’s called a storage box
Last week, I wrote a piece called “Why Is There So Much Shit in People’s Homes These Days?” about this 21st-century phenomenon of filling our homes with stuff we don’t need.
I wrote the piece because, for the past six months, my wife and I have been looking at apartments to buy.
I’ve seen inside a lot of homes recently. Or more specifically, I’ve seen a lot of laundry bins. A lot of trinkets. A lot of coffee tables. A lot of kitchen appliances. A lot of TVs. A lot of wall coverings. A lot of cabinets. A lot of everything.
Beautifully appointed apartments filled to the rafters with garbage. And I don’t mean trash like empty takeaway cartons or beer cans; I mean homeware, gadgets, furniture, chairs, hideous L-shaped sofas and lots of cushions.
You know the places I’m talking about. You might have one yourself. You buy a new place, get excited, buy a load of new stuff, then wonder where on earth you’re going to put it all.
So what do you do?
You ring up a storage facility.
