Google Ai mini hackathon
Pako — My AI-Powered Parking Finder Inspired by Airbnb
Finding parking in crowded cities is a nightmare — I’ve faced it too many times. At the same time, I noticed how many private garages and driveways sit empty for hours every day. That contrast sparked an idea.

During the Google Hackathon, I built Pako — a web platform that helps people rent parking spaces by the hour, just like how Airbnb helps you find places to stay.
What Pako Does
Skrache connects:
- 🏡 Property owners who want to rent unused space (garage, driveway, empty plots)
- 🚗 Drivers who need parking in areas with no reliable public options
It’s a clean, map-based interface where users can search an area, view nearby spots, and book them instantly on an hourly basis.
Why It’s Smart
This isn’t just a listing platform. I’m using AI (with Gemini and Firebase) to:
- Suggest likely available spaces based on time, location, and demand
- Plan dynamic pricing and smarter filtering in the future
- Eventually verify space images and listings using AI-powered validation
Tech Stack
- Firebase Studio: Prototyping, auth, hosting
- Google Maps API: Location-based search & UI
- Firestore: Real-time data
- Tailwind CSS: Fast, modern UI
- Gemini API (upcoming): AI logic & enhancements
- Cloud Functions (planned): Secure backend AI calls
Features Built
- 📍 Search via location and maps
- 🏠 List a parking spot with details
- ⏳ Book by the hour
- 🤖 Basic AI suggestions (location/time-based)
- 🌙 Dark mode UI
What I Learned
Building this in a short time was intense. Handling real-time maps, search filters, bookings, and Firebase logic taught me a lot. The biggest takeaway? Start simple, focus on solving one real problem well, and polish later.
What’s Next
I want to expand Skrache with:
- 📷 AI-based image moderation
- 💳 Payment integration
- 📈 Heatmaps for high-demand zones
- 🧠 Smarter AI logic + trust features

Final Note
Parking shouldn’t be this hard. With Pako, I’ve tried to bring some structure and intelligence to an everyday issue. If this resonates with you, I’d love your feedback — or even your help.
Thanks for reading!
