Virtualization systems? Containers? Dozens of third-party apps here and there? Cloud machines that look like mushrooms in spring? Windows machines not updated for four years and that nobody knows about? Linux of distributions that were lost in the twilight of history like tears in the rain? Maybe network stuff whose password nobody knows -although they continue to provide service-, SQL databases, non-SQL ones and some that cannot even be called databases, but contain very important information, storage, test environments and many, many… many machines that are supposed to be inventoried somewhere – and that probably are in several places at once – but that for some reason we do not just trust.
The only thing you won’t find in a company of more than 300 employees is order. And you will say: “But I don’t have time… I don’t have the money… I don’t understand it…” or just: “It’s not for me”.
I am not going to explain why you should bring order to your IT, you already know that, surely you had wet dreams about it. Everything being in its place, whenever somebody touches anything you find out before everybody else, being the one that always knows where, when and how each bit moves. Imagine having one tool to dominate all the others. A ring… a unique tool.
Pandora FMS, all-in-one monitoring.
Others call it observability, or…, in short, call it what you want, but deep down, what we all seek is to know how to tidy things up, and for that you need an eye that sees everything, and a tentacle that reaches to the most remote corner of your organization.
Our logo is not an eye, it is a tentacle. Just one.
But let’s see, what did you say… that you didn’t have time?
I don’t have time
What if I told you that you can explore a network of 500 hosts and start monitoring in less than an hour?
Okay, we won’t find everything, but I assure you that you will have an initial catalog of systems. Our NG version discovery is capable of that and monitoring a SAP or an OS2 Warp (if you add its IP).
You can represent your environment on a network map, export it to a list and even find out what OS, IP and name it has. Imagine having an inventory of the use of IPs, knowing who uses them, which ones are reserved and the percentage of IP’s available, basically full IPAM management.
What if I told you that you could find out what apps you have installed? And what hardware does each system support? And that you could even be able to remotely connect to it wherever it is? By terminal or by remote desktop. Everything from the same tool!
You don’t have time, or you don’t want to save time? Think about the amount of time it would save you to have system events, hardware and software inventory, system and application performance details, remote desktop access, and the ability to retrieve information from local commands to get real performance data, tailored to your environment, everything within the same application. Don’t you have the time? You should have plenty of it if you do all those tasks manually or with a pool of different tools.
I have no money
The easy thing would be to tell you that Pandora FMS is free. That’s easy, it’s free!
Yes, the Community version is free, and unlimited, and with it you can perform almost all the tasks that I discussed in the previous paragraph.
And why am I going to talk about money if it’s free?
Because you know what? Your time is worth money (a lot) and your boss knows it. And if you’re not aware, you should start looking for another job where they really value your time.
That’s why we have the Enterprise version, for people who know that time is worth a lot. And that’s why we have an Enterprise version, which allows you to optimize your time with additional automation, standardization and automatic provisioning tools, so that it allows you to save even more time than the Community version.
Believe me, the price of the Enterprise version is less than the cost of your time.
I don’t understand it
If you have hundreds of machines, anyone who saw your network map would tell you the same thing. Imposing order over chaos is no easy task. We would like to have an interface with two buttons and a screen, but that would be just an illusion, that’s just not going to happen unfortunately.
We have courses, manuals of many pages and a 24/7 support team to help you, but we know that’s not the problem, the problem is that you do not have time and do not want to spend it understanding a tool, installing it, dealing with updates and with the countless options of a tool that is capable of ordering chaos. In fact, if it were easy to sort out the chaos, anyone could do it!
We know that it’s not easy. That’s why we can do it for you, or at least the part that involves us. You can use Pandora FMS as a service (Pandora FMS MaaS). Pay as you go and we take care of everything, even the initial deployment! We take care of everything, except the most important thing: sleeping at last peacefully. We leave that to you, you need it!
It’s not for me
You may think that Pandora FMS is too advanced a tool, that it is complex, that you do not need so much power, that only large companies use it, but the truth is that the Open version, which was first created in 2004 began to be used in small and medium-sized companies, and today they continue to use it. The same as thousands of students around the world who use it for their internships (thanks to the fact that we have the most complete documentation and a huge amount of video tutorials).
Don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do!
Don’t stop dreaming!
Don’t stop improving!
Don’t stop trying!
Once you’ve seen what’s upstairs, you won’t look down again!
After all, you may not want to risk it, but if you ever want to know why your website goes down, understand why the database is overloaded, collect, unify and search among all your system logs, remember that Pandora FMS can help you.
If you ever dream of electric sheep, you will see that they are monitored with Pandora FMS.
