Kapwing

Pros: Great way to learn as you go. I am totally new to editing and this website is almost dummy proof! Unlike similar sites I have tried, Kapwing honestly lets you do a lot of things free. I can totally see the value in a paid subscription but they don't pull away the "free" carrot if you chose not to. Great site to create PNG files as they have a huge library of copyright free images.

Cons: Workspaces can get mired down but this is a user issue more than a site one.

Overall: I am thrilled to have found Kapwing and hope to upgrade soon! For those users like me who know next to nothing about graphic design and photo/video editing, Kapwing helps get you started by letting you try doing not simply reading how to be doing... make sense?

Pros: It did as expected. I was able to edit a video and able to apply a rudimentary filter and add a little blur.

Cons: Was not all that intuitive and didn't change much visually until you export it.

Overall: The cons are likely just my expectations arguing over computational expense. It's worth using and I may have a need to use it again someday.

Pros: Didn't have to sign up and make a lot of preferences.

Cons: Was a little difficult to get a clip as short as I wanted (meme sized) but was eventually able to do it.

Overall: Was able to edit a meme sized clip from the movie Bedazzled (I first found a 4 min long version that included the snippet I wanted). Easy to do and worked well.

Pros: I love how easy to use the platform is and how quickly I am able to edit and download content. They are very generous with their free features as well.

Cons: None really so far. They have really improved the platform since the first time I used the product and you can now edit videos and add all sorts of graphics. The only issue I have is around creating the subtitles. I wish there are were more options to make it look even more professional.

Overall: I enjoy using the platform and would recommend it to anyone looking to create quick videos for social media.

Pros: Easy to use, simple to understand, but also powerful enough to make complex videos. Kapwing is the best web based video editor out there. Their software team is constantly adding new features too.

Cons: No cons at all! I honestly just enjoyed using every aspect of this product.

Overall: Great experience, I was able to make my video in no time. Just go to the website, click get started, and you can edit right away.

Pros: Exports high quality videos + has a lot of features, including transitions, animations + chroma key. Good for short videos.

Cons: Doesn't seem to be as good for longer videos. Exporting could be faster.

Overall: An online editor thats good for simple edits and for keeping your computer fan from whirring. Seems like the product is changing a lot too.

Pros: None - there are no PROS because I didn't get to use the software due to size limitations which are ridiculous.

Cons: Overly complicated, aside from that, total BS. I realized shortly after purchasing I wouldn't be able to use it and they responded to my refund request with a "tough sh*t" attitude. Awful customer service.

Overall: Terrible customer service- they refused my request for a refund, which I asked for right after purchasing and realizing I wouldn't bee able to use the software due to ridiculous size limitations.

Pros: Basic feature set for low price. Cute branding, seemed easy to use at first. But I didn't get to use the product.

Cons: My goal was simple, purchasing an account for my teammate for her to use that same morning. This was not possible since the "add licence" option didn't work. After trying all possible ways to provide my teammate with an account, I canceled the subscription and went to a similar product from a competitor.

Overall: Although this was a bug on their hand and I haven't used the video features at all, customer support didn't provide a refund. According to them, my expectations for a 20 dollars refund over a product I couldn't get to use are too high.

Pros: Kapwing is the best online video editor there is. The site can be a little buggy sometimes but it's worked really well for me and my content overall.

Cons: I think they could improve the speed of uploading.

Overall: I really like using Kapwing! It's the easiest video editor that I've found I can use without downloading or paying.

Pros: Nothing - this platform does not live up to its promises, and its tech support deflects the issues over as your problem (take responsibility, especially to pro members).

Cons: Glitchy, tech support virtually non-existent, don't pay to upgrade.

Overall: Kapwing is a borderline scam. Don't do it. The site is so glitchy that it cannot withstand basic tasks. It also suggests in order to access greater abilities that you need to upgrade. So you do. Then the glitches get worse. As for Pro membership offering tech support in 3-4 days, it's a falsehood. They are more than happy to ignore your messages for assistance and let the months (aka 20 dollars per month membership) roll over without any reply. I put a lot of work into my project and in the 3 months I've had this account (60dollars) I had one reply in the first month that deflected the issues over to me - suggesting that it was my laptop and connection. But I'm on the latest MacBook M1 and 5G. So I'm NOT the problem. I'm trying to salvage what I can as we speak but the files are frozen, so this may just be a write off. So take this from me, don't upgrade and find yourself a better platform. Kapwing ain't it.

Pros: Very easy to use. Very easy to follow the instructions. Some other apps seem way too complicated..

Cons: The audio is horrendous. After spending a good amount of time to make the video you have to scrap it because it songs pretty crappy.

Overall: I was enjoying the ease as other can be pretty difficult to navigate until I heard the finalized product. Wasted my time.

Pros: Finally a video editor that I can actually use! Fastest way to add subtitles and music to my videos. It's free to try out and supports all of the videos I make for Instagram and YouTube

Cons: There's a small watermark, but I subscribed to the premium plan to remove it (which is $20/month). They're a bit slow on responding.

Overall: Love Kapwing. I've never made videos before, but I feel like I can with Kapwing for the first time. Not intimidating - really fast to get going.
