Link Google Ads to Campaign Manager 360 to enable enhanced YouTube, Demand Gen, and Performance Max tracking

If you're already using Campaign Manager 360 to serve ads, you can connect it to Google Ads to coordinate your campaigns. Linking Campaign Manager 360 advertisers to Google Ads enables Campaign Manager 360 measurement for your ads. Combining Campaign Manager 360 and Google Ads data gives you comprehensive performance insights and means you can measure impressions and clicks alongside your Google Ads metrics, and utilize advanced Campaign Manager 360 features.

How it works

Linking your Google Ads account will allow you to set Campaign Manager 360 tags on Google Ads entities and track YouTube media purchased in Google Ads. Establishing a link between a Google Ads customer and a Campaign Manager 360 advertiser gives the Campaign Manager 360 advertiser permission to push tracking URLs to a Google Ads creative.

Supported Google Ads campaign types

Supported campaign types:

  • Video reach campaigns
  • Video view campaigns
  • Video action campaigns
  • YouTube Reserve campaigns
  • Demand Gen campaigns*
  • Search campaigns*
  • Performance Max campaigns*

Supported formats:

  • Multi-format video ads
  • Skippable in-stream ads
  • Bumper ads
  • Non-skippable in-stream ads
  • All Demand Gen ad formats
  • All Search ad formats
  • Performance Max asset groups
Notes:
  • In some cases (for example, non multi-format video ads), editing an ad in Google Ads will generate a new ad. If this occurs, the new ad must also be assigned to the Campaign Manager 360 tracker.
  • *Demand Gen, Search, and Performance Max campaign types aren't eligible for assignment in cases where the Google Ads user is linked to Search Ads 360. It is to ensure that the Floodlight conversions are not split between Campaign Manager 360 and Search Ads 360.
  • For Search campaigns, only click tracking is supported. Impression tracking is not available. All creative types are supported for Search campaigns.
  • Google Ads ad tracking in Campaign Manager 360 now supports click tracking for Performance Max campaigns. You can now link your Campaign Manager 360 trackers to your Google Ads asset groups within your Performance Max campaigns to measure click-through conversions through Floodlight, providing enhanced insights into the impact of your Performance Max campaigns. However, impression tacking isn't supported.
