Link YouTube creator videos to your Display & Video 360 account

If you’re an advertiser collaborating with a YouTube creator, you can link their video to your Display & Video 360 advertiser. Linking a video made by a YouTube creator to your Display & Video 360 advertiser allows the linked Display & Video 360 advertiser access to insights like the YouTube view count of the linked YouTube video, and run Creator partnerships boost with the video.

By accepting the video link request, the creator enables you to promote their video as part of your ad campaigns as a Creator partnerships boost. Remember that you’re responsible for securing sufficient rights to use the video as an ad. This may require you to have a separate agreement with the creator or other rights holders.


Manage YouTube video links in Display & Video 360

You can manage YouTube video links in the “Link YouTube creator videos” panel in Display & Video 360. The “Link YouTube creator videos” panel shows linked YouTube videos and permissions you have been granted, as well as your pending link requests.

The “Link YouTube creator videos” panel can only be accessed once you have submitted a YouTube video link request. To go to the “Link YouTube creator videos” panel:

  1. Open your advertiser in Display & Video 360.
  2. Click Advertiser settings from the left hand panel, then select Linked accounts.
  3. In the “YouTube creator videos” section under “Connected products”, click linked or the pencil icon.

Submit a YouTube video link request

  1. Open your advertiser in Display & Video 360.
  2. Click Advertiser settings from the left hand panel, then select Linked accounts.
  3. Click the Link new account button and select YouTube creator videos.
  4. In the “Video” field, search for a YouTube creator video or paste a URL from YouTube. The video must be either unlisted or public to link. Private videos cannot be used for the linking process, as ads cannot run against them.
  5. Select the video and click Link.

The owner and channel manager of the YouTube creator account will receive both an email with a request to link the video with a Display and Video 360 account, and a push notification in YouTube Studio to accept the link request. It’s recommended to reach out to the YouTube channel owner before sending out the link request to ensure it’s accepted.

Cancel a pending YouTube video link request

  1. Open your advertiser in Display & Video 360.
  2. Click Advertiser settings from the left hand panel, then select Linked accounts.
  3. In the “YouTube creator videos” section under “Connected products”, click pending (your request) or the pencil icon.
  4. In the Pending (Your request) tab, select the YouTube video link requests you want to cancel.
  5. Click Remove.

Unlink a YouTube video

  1. Open your advertiser in Display & Video 360.
  2. Click Advertiser settings from the left hand panel, then select Linked accounts.
  3. In the “YouTube creator videos” section under “Connected products”, click Linked or the pencil icon.
  4. In the Linked tab, select the YouTube video link requests you want to unlink.
  5. Click Unlink.

Linking a video made by a YouTube creator is useful if you are working with a YouTube creator, want to see more insights about the video, and run Creator partnerships boost using their video. It gives you insights into how the video is performing organically and enables Creator partnerships boost formats.


Considerations

  • You’re responsible for securing sufficient rights to use the video as an ad. This may require you to have a separate agreement with the creator or other rights holders.
  • Linking accounts doesn't give the YouTube channel owner control over the Display & Video 360 advertiser. In addition, linking accounts doesn't let the advertiser delete, or modify the linked videos on the YouTube channel.   • Linking YouTube videos doesn’t mean that these videos are exclusive to the linked Display & Video 360 advertiser. A YouTube video may be linked to multiple Display & Video 360 advertisers, including accounts owned by another advertiser.
