Manage your data in Google Flow

When you interact with the tools, Google collects your interactions, tool outputs, related product usage information, and your feedback. This data helps us provide, improve, and develop Google products, services, and machine-learning technologies, like those that power Google Flow. 

For example, we review your feedback and use it to help make Google Flow safer. We also use it to help reduce common problems with generative machine-learning models.

Access & manage your data

When you have "Help improve Google Flow" enabled, Google may use your Google Flow interactions, uploads, generated output, related feature usage information, and your feedback to provide, improve, and develop Google products and services and machine learning technologies.

Don’t enter confidential information in your Google Flow interactions or any data you wouldn’t want a reviewer to see or Google to use to improve our products, services, and machine-learning technologies.

Review or delete Google Flow projects individually

1. On your device, go to labs.google/fx/flow.
2. Hover over any project or output.
3. Select Delete .

Turn off Google Flow product improvement

1. On your device, go to labs.google/fx/flow.
2. At the top, click More .
3. Turn off Help improve Google Flow.

Delete all Google Flow Project data

On the web

1. On your device, go to labs.google/fx/flow.
2. At the top, click More  Delete all projects.
3. In the confirmation dialog, select Delete All.

On the mobile app

1. On your mobile device, open the Google Flow app.
2. At the top right, tap your profile picture or initial  My library.
3. At the top, tap More  Delete all projects.
4. In the confirmation dialog, select Delete All.

Delete Google Flow Tool & Agent data

1. On your device, go to labs.google/fx/flow.
2. Click an existing project.
3. On the left, select Tools.
4. At the top, select My Tools.
5. Under a tool, select More  Delete.

Important: This action is irreversible and has no confirmation prompt.

Export a copy of your Google Flow data

If you want to back up your Google Flow data or use it with a service outside of Google, request to export a copy of your data by emailing us at ai-test-kitchen-data-export@google.com.

Control access to your data

We take your privacy seriously, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone. To help Google Flow improve while protecting your privacy, we use automated tools to help remove user identifying information (such as email addresses and phone numbers) from your interactions. These interactions are reviewed by trained reviewers and kept for up to 18 months, separately from your Google Account. To learn more, read the Google Flow Privacy Notice.

Understand Google’s legal bases for processing Google Flow data under United Kingdom data protection law

If United Kingdom (UK) data protection law applies to the processing of your information, please read the below carefully.

When you use Google Flow, Google processes your information for the purposes, and on the legal grounds, described below.

When we refer to “your Google Flow information” below we mean all of the following: (i) your Google Flow interactions, (ii) tool outputs, (iii) related product usage information; and (iv) your feedback.

Google's legal bases are:

• Performance of a contract. We process your Google Flow information so that we can provide and maintain the Google Flow service you have requested under the Google Terms of Service. For example, we process your Google Flow information to provide outputs in response to your interactions, and to provide various Google Flow features and functionalities such as image generation.
• Google and third parties' legitimate interests with appropriate safeguards to protect your privacy.
  • We process information from publicly accessible sources and your Google Flow information so that we can provide, maintain, improve, and develop Google products, services, and machine learning technologies.
    • Processing this information for this purpose is necessary for the legitimate interests of Google and our users in:
      • Providing, maintaining, and improving our services to meet the needs of our users (such as using interactions to fine-tune models and improve Google Flow outputs for safety and accuracy).
      • Developing new products and features that are useful for our users (such as training new models to respond to your interactions).
      • Understanding how people use our services to ensure and improve the performance of our services (such as generating metrics to understand how users are using Google Flow to better tailor user experience).
  • We also process your Google Flow information so that we can maintain the functionality, safety and reliability of Google Flow, including by detecting, preventing, and responding to fraud, abuse, security risks, and technical issues that could affect Google, our users, or the public.
    • Processing this information for this purpose is necessary for the legitimate interests of Google, our users, and the public in:
    • Detecting, preventing, or otherwise addressing fraud, abuse, security, or technical issues with our services (such as fixing bugs and troubleshooting failures).
    • Protecting against harm to the rights, property, or safety of Google, our users, or the public as required or permitted by law (such as updating safety classifiers and model filters).
    • Performing research that improves our services for our users and benefits the public.
    • Enforcing legal claims, including investigation of potential violations of applicable terms of service (such as reviewing suspicious activity and interactions flagged as problematic).
  • Processing this information for this purpose is also necessary for the legitimate interests of Google and our commercial partners in fulfilling obligations to our partners like developers and rights holders (such as honoring removal requests from intellectual property rights holders).
• Legal obligations. We’ll also process your Google Flow information to meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request (such as if we get a legal request for information from a governmental authority).
