No one cares.
Only our fears and inhibitions keep us here.
And what if they stare?
It is only a projection of their fears.

We should hold hands.
Not to make a stand,
For it is our heart’s desire.
We seek not to be martyrs to the damned.

Walk through the crowded streets of London,
Anonymous, but curious.
Somewhere we can find an inner peace.
Why stain ourselves with a pain we instil in ourselves?

We create our hell, thinking about what others might think.
It is a bottomless sink; let us not descend.
Ours is the freedom they desire, but are afraid to live.
For all must conform and adhere to the norm.

And so we keep ourselves small, chained to others’ expectations.
We are all seeking the unobtainable,
When the solution resides within us.
The freedom to be: to embrace our authentic selves.

I have to let go of the chains.
I have to free myself from these self-imposed prison cells.
Normality is a cage, a numbing banality.
