A Strange Thing to Accept in Life if You Want to Be Happy
That’s what my teacher said to me 10 years ago. Now I understand why.
Every year I visit the same place with my girlfriend. It’s been the same place she’s been going to every year since she was three years old.
It’s called Churchaven, and it’s on the West coast of South Africa, a couple of hours outside of Cape Town.
It’s changed a lot in her lifetime, as has she. So neither the place nor the person is the same.
That’s one of the strangest things about life. Nothing stays the same. It’s always changing. It’s always different. Even familiar places aren’t familiar because familiar means well-known, but how can anything be well-known if it’s constantly new?
Quantum Field Theory calls this newness “ripples.” Ripples are waves of energy that emerge from and subside back into the quantum field every single moment. So, the theory suggests that nothing in the world is rigid or fixed because it’s constantly in a state of flux or flow; always changing, never still.
This aligns with something Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha) discovered thousands of years before he became enlightened. The theory is now known as Buddhist Atomism, and it details how subatomic particles arise and pass away…
