Already a staple in the PlayStation 2 diet, KOEI’s Dynasty Warriors series is getting marching orders to fight on the Xbox 360. KOEI today announced Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires for Microsoft’s new console, giving the tactical action title the next-gen sparkle of high-definition graphics and Dolby Digital 5.1 sound.
Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires adds strategic gameplay to the original Dynasty Warriors 5, challenging players to conquer 25 regions of Ancient China and build an overarching empire. Players can issue orders directly to officers — or signal general commands to officers in the field — having armies take the offensive, stand ground, or form an ambush. Empires lets players choose officers for an attack force, recruit captives, and dismiss officers from the kingdom. The game adds 25 new policies for greater control over Government, Product Development, Diplomacy and Battle Tactics.
Other features include four unlockable scenarios, two-player co-op play in “Empire” and “Free” modes, new items to unlock, and control of more than 200 officers. The game even includes a history of Ancient China.
Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires for Xbox 360 is scheduled to reach stores on March 28, right alongside its PlayStation 2 sibling.
