Sponges

JamesNorris edited this page Jul 8, 2012 · 4 revisions

Sponges used to be a special block before Minecraft Infdev. They had an effect that removed a radius of water. Flow has re-innovated that event, with the ability to change the radius in the config, and an ability to prevent problems that existed in every plugin that added this effect back.

Values in the Config

When you view the config.yml, you will notice values for using sponges. These values are listed below:

enableSponges: false

Set if sponges soak up water around them, causing a radius of air. This radius actually just forms a cube.

spongeRadius: 2

Set the radius where sponges soak up water. The higher this is, the more memory it will temporarily take up! It is highly recommended that this is no higher than 3!

craftSponges: false

Allow sponges to be crafted by players with permission.

A Sponges' Radius

When you place a sponge, it has a radius of effect. This radius was set up in the config, and can be changed. If you change the radius after the sponge has been placed, you will have to replace the sponge to get the new effect radius.

Crafting a Sponge

To craft a sponge, you need to put 5 wool and 4 sand in a patters, as seen below.
