Rubblemites are small hostile mobs found throughout most of the End. They attack by dashing at players, and protect themselves using their shell.

Spawning

Rubblemites spawn in groups of 2-3 within End Highlands, End Midlands, Magnia Fields, and Veiled Woodlands. In Corrupt Barrens, they spawn in groups of 1.

The material of their shell depends on the block the Rubblemite spawns on. Mirestone variants appear on Mirestone blocks, Dusk Purpur blocks, and Corrupt Overgrowth. Veradite and Kurodite variants appear on Veradite and Kurodite respectively.

Drops

On Death

Rubblemites drop 5 experience points, 0-1 of their shell material, and have a 25% chance to drop Rubble Chitin.

Behavior

Rubblemites attack Players and Iron Golems within 24 blocks.

As arthropods, Rubblemites are affected by the Bane of Arthropods enchantment.

Damaging

Upon taking attack damage, Rubblemites retreat into their shell for 2 seconds. When inside their shell, Rubblemites won't move or look around. When inside their shell or dashing, they are invulnerable to physical attacks under 12 HP.

Rubblemites also enter their shells when they touch water or rain. When submerged in water, they won't move, and will slowly drown.

Attacking

Rubblemites have a 10% chance to dash towards their target during combat, gaining horizontal and slight vertical momentum, followed by a 1.5 second cooldown.

Rubblemites cannot dash when they have the slowness effect, making Bane of Arthropods especially effective at countering them.

Trivia

  • Rubblemites are voiced by Vye, an Enderscape developer.
  • Prior to version 1.0, the bottom textures of Rubblemites did not connect to their head.
