The mobgroup is the root object of all mob groups.

id (String)

The name of the mobgroup. The file name is NOT the name of the mob group!

names (String Array)

Array of strings for all the mobs in the mob group. The names should be ResourceLocation . For example, the ResourceLocation for a pig is "minecraft:pig"
