You.com MCP Server
The You.com MCP Server enables AI assistants to perform various types of searches and gather information using the You.com API:
Web Search: Access You.com's standard web search functionality
Smart Search: Get AI-powered answers with citation support and custom instructions
Research: Obtain comprehensive, citation-backed answers for academic queries
News Search: Fetch the latest news articles on any topic
Allows storing configuration and API keys for the You.com service in environment variables loaded from a .env file.
Used for cloning the repository during installation.
Hosts the repository (youcom-mcp) that can be cloned for installation.
Required runtime environment for the MCP server with version 16 or higher needed.
Package manager used to install dependencies and run the MCP server.
Alternative package manager that can be used instead of npm to install dependencies.
Click on "Install Server".
Wait a few minutes for the server to deploy. Once ready, it will show a "Started" state.
In the chat, type
@followed by the MCP server name and your instructions, e.g., "@You.com MCP Serverfind recent news about AI advancements in healthcare"
That's it! The server will respond to your query, and you can continue using it as needed.

Installation
Clone this repository:

Running Locally (Optional)
You can run the server locally for testing:
npm startSetting up with Claude
To use this MCP server with Claude (Anthropic Assistant), you need to configure Claude to use this server:
Open the Claude extension settings in VS Code:
Click on the Claude icon in the VS Code sidebar
Click on the settings icon (⚙️) and select "MCP Settings"

Running evals
