It's so simple really. Every human exists on a spectrum of inherited features/traits/attributes assigned at birth. As Hildegard von Bingen said back in the 12th century "Every creature is a glittering, glistening mirror of divinity." Sorting individuals into classes, boxes, categories and then labeling them inevitably creates a hierarchy of power where those deemed "lesser" can be denied their human rights (we have seen this movie before). We are all creatures of God (or of a random process if you are an atheist). Where an individual falls on the spectrum of creation needs to be not only respected, but honored. Nobody asked to be born, yet here we are. Respect.
