Why I joined Medium
Guess what! I just started my first week at Medium, and I am swooning.
I’ve kept an eye on Medium for many years, mostly through my work on other platforms that enable people to share and express themselves on the web. Honestly, never thought I’d work here, but then Cassie McDaniel joined? And then they started taking some spicy stances around AI? One thing led to another, I met the team, and the rest is history.

From starting out as a nerd building blogs by hand in the early aughts, to joining teams of people working on the future of what that became, I continue to be an optimist about writing and creative expression on the web. It’s hard to wash out the writer in me, even as I’ve let that atrophy for so many years in favor of pixels.
Thank you Cassie McDaniel/Tony Stubblebine/Medium team for such a warm welcome! It’s gonna be great.
