They’re gonna hate me for this, but I’ll tell you.

All the world’s a stage, baby… start acting.

Those are the words I should continuously tell myself instead of writing them.

But what can I do? I am not as powerful as my closest people think I am.

Someone is lying in this circle… but who?

I want to be a better person; that’s the reason why I don’t like being near people who push me out of myself at all… in a way that makes me less kind, less calm, or less happy.

Who is that one person that I look up to?

There isn’t only one; there are many. Let them be my colleagues, my friend group, my family.

One colleague whom I look up to and smile each time I speak is an ex-colleague, let’s say.

He… has too many good qualities, let’s say… and I’m not using quality as a simple word.

What draws me toward this person is the way he manages to communicate with the people around him. How he tries to see the world from their perspectives, the lovely sarcasm he uses, and the way he gives a message when all you wanted was for someone to listen to you.

Maybe I am a bit biased, since the not-so-good qualities are not that appealing to me. From that part, I will only separate the ability to show empathy. Everyone has their own way of showing empathy, of communicating it, of expressing the feelings a person awakens in them. Some love food, some love expressions, and some others… just looking deeply and listening.

So I’m thankful… thankful to him and to fate that brought us together for that short time.

How could I not be grateful and look up to my friends?

A girl… a tall, curly girl… has become a dear friend of mine for the past three or four years. We have had the opportunity to talk, to share our deep thoughts, make some amazing memories during our trips, and laugh and cry a bunch.

What I see in her (besides the beautiful brown glasses) is the genuine energy I feel each time we meet. What I see is the unstoppable love I receive, the courage to become a better person, to focus on myself, to fall deeply in love with myself, and then share it with other people.

Albanians say that while drinking coffee, you can truly know a person well. Let’s say there is no coffee shop that hasn’t seen the two of us.

As we say, the cherry at the end.

From my big Albanian family, there is a small girl… a smart and adventurous person, which is all I can ask for. Twenty-one years… that’s how long I have known her. I have seen her cry, laugh, do “smart” things, take adventurous steps in her life, and become fully front-lobe developed.

A question arises: why this one? What is special about her?

Everything, the way she thinks, the way she pushes you out of your comfort zone, the way she convinces you to do your very best.

What I wish for my people (this is not a small çetë, only the people I want to push and be pushed by) is utterly the best. There are no perfect humans, or outstanding humans… only humans. The humans of my small Earth.

Each one of them looks into my eyes and tells me that I can achieve, I can push forward, I can have good and bad days and to remember: This too shall pass.

This too shall pass.

This too shall pass.

This too shall pass.

I deeply wish that each human has a small, strong Earth, with other humans who stay together and form a great alliance.

→ sincere empathy
