To Be Beloved Costs Nothing, Yet It Is Emotionally Worth Everything
[EXPECTATIONS]
I used to think that a happy marriage meant having someone who understood me without explanation.
One who could read my face, recognise my silence and automatically know what I needed.
Well, life had a different plan!
One evening, I was upset because my husband hadn't noticed how exhausted I was after managing work, children and household responsibilities.
He casually asked, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," I replied.
He looked at me and said, "If nothing is wrong, why does your face look like you've just received the worst news of the year?"
I wanted him to understand my feelings, but I wasn't even explaining them properly!
And that’s where many of our struggles began…….
We both had expectations, responsibilities and our own ways of expressing emotions.
Sometimes, I wanted appreciation while he wanted peace and he needed understanding while I was waiting for attention.
